Apple Keynote Thoughts
I’m overall quite impressed with the iPad so far, though it is missing a few key features and it’s name is less than perfect, iSlate would have been a lot better IMHO. Still its not bad for a $499 starting price-point, however I don’t agree with the $130+ additional cost for a WIFI+3G version.
Missing Key Features:
- Lacks a Webcam, would be nice to have one on each side, one for say pics and the other for a video camera for say Skype.
- OS, I feel that a hybrid of OSX 10.6.x + iPhone 4.0 would have been a great mix for an OS, allowing both native iPhone like applications and traditional Mac-like applications, I do understand from battery-life and hardware perspective why it doesn’t.
- Lack of on-board USB, must use a Dock-to-USB/SD adaptor to use these.
- Ability to use A/V, etc without it being in the iPad Dock
